Doc STRANGE comes with a Ph.D. in music and will blow you away with it. With over two decades of experience at his disposal, this underground hip-hop rapper brings you bars that will have you bobbing your head to the beat. Coming in from the state of Texas, this rapper, this producer, and this majordomo is a force to be reckoned with. Doc STRANGE owns and operates out of his own label, Sister with Pistol Song works.
Starting out in 2000 and releasing a song in 2002, Doc is a self-made intrapreneur, as he likes to call it. His song “Yet and Still” played on a local radio show, “ Slam it or Jam it,” for a week when he released it back in 2001, and it’s a tragedy that isn’t available anywhere now. But it is safe to say that that was just the beginning of a whole career for Doc. His stage name is a mix of the nickname his dad had, which was Doc, and his own love for sci-fi movies and comics, which set him apart from the community at that time, leading to STRANGE. This Texas rapper comes onto the stage like a gun-slinging hustler coming to get what he wants.
Doc’s music can be described as Boom Bap and forward-thinking, and if you listen to it on his YouTube channel or his own website, you’ll understand why. He adds a little soulful funk twist to his tracks, and it really brings it all together. For Doc to start writing, it’s vital for him to be in the zone first. After that, he gets down and deep in his work writing lyrics and working on his beats whenever he can. It’s a complete catharsis for his soul and therapy for his mental being. For him, it’s meditation. He was motivated into this life by doing what he liked and enjoying it, reading comics, watching movies, and going out. He was thrust onto the stage because of his outlook on life, and his life entirely shaped him to be where he is right now. But the defining moment in his life was when he earned his first dollar from a CD he made. He started to grind his way out of a basement and landed in a studio. Doc believes he still has a long way to go because the grind never stops in this world.
Stay tuned for more bangers from this doctor, leveling up on each track as he makes his way to the top. You can expect more and more from this maestro of rap because he isn’t done just yet.
