Tlou Cleopas Monyepao was born on 24th December 1979 in Vosloorus.

Dj Cleo started as a producer for a radio show for Dj Fresh’s morning program on YFM.

Later in 2002, he founded his own recording label, Will of Steel Productions, and worked with Pitch Black Afro as a first musician to be signed to his label.

Dj Cleo has also worked on various soundtracks for TV and film including the Oscar-winning feature film Tsotsi and drama series, Rhythm City.

Out of a total of 8 albums Cleo has won many different awards the most notable being the 2008 South African Music Awards (SAMA): Urban Dance album for Es’khaleni Phase 4.
