Divine was an R&B girl group formed in 1996 by Ruben Rodriguez, founder of Pendulum Records and Red Ant Entertainment. The members were Kia Thornton, Nikki Bratcher and Tonia Tash. They released their debut album Fairy Tales, which included the hits “Lately” and a cover of George Michael’s “One More Try” in 1998. The group disbanded two years later after their successful career. In 2007, Kia Thornton was a contestant on American Idol and was eliminated in the Hollywood rounds. She and Nikki went on to build their own music businesses while becoming newly married. Divine will always be a group known for its soulful voices, youthful spirit and a talent for various musical groups known worldwide.
