Dishwalla is an Santa Barbara, California-based alternative rock band formed in 1993. They are best known for their 1995 hit single “Counting Blue Cars”, which peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became their only charting record, resulting in them being widely deemed a one-hit wonder. The bands lead singer-songwriter from their formation until 2005 was J. R. Richards. The band’s name comes from a Hindi term for a person providing satellite TV to a neighborhood.
