Die Prinzen (“The Princes”) is a German pop rock group, consisting of five singers and former members of the Thomanerchor (the choir of the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Germany). They began their career singing exclusively a cappella, but since have incorporated more instruments.
Die Prinzen’s songs are often humorous; for example, “Küssen verboten” is about a man who’s frightened of kissing, and “Vergammelte speisen” is about bad food at restaurants. Other songs are tongue-in-cheek critiques of German culture, such as their biggest hit, “Deutschland”.
