Formed after Dez Fafara’s original band, Coal Chamber, dissolved. Originally went by the name Deathride, the name was a suggestion from Fafara’s wife, who came across the term “Devil Driver” in a book by Italian witchcraft author Raven Grimassi (specifically, in a book on Stregheria). Fafara liked the name because he felt it sounded “evil”, and thought the term “suits his life”.
The band’s logo is the Cross of Confusion.
