Deryck Whibley grew up always fascinated by music. He was an only child to a single teenage mother and has never met his father. Deryck and his mother were forced to move from apartment to apartment as they struggled to make ends meet. Fortunately, Deryck always had music.

He was married to fellow Candian-born singer, Avril Lavigne from 2006 to 2009.
