Self-proclaimed South East Londoner, Deema (Rapper and former member of grime crew The Square. Born in 2000 at his home in Peckham. Long term collaborator of producer Dom Valentino) releases his latest EP ‘Western South London’. The first episode of a 3 track series he’s set to deliver this year.
Setting the stage with We Sell Hearts With No Appeal (produced by Subculture) Deema is taking a clear stride in a new direction. Western South London is an introduction to a refined and crafted side of Deema we have not seen.
Having worked on this series of songs for nearly three years – from production quality to alternative songwriting Deema and his close team have enduringly elevated their fun creative approach into a serious artistic undergoing that earlier projects had not had the benefit of.
The final track of Western South London sees Deema reunite with friend and fellow underground rapper Kish! and Dom Valentino for their most screw-face moment yet. The two had not revealed any collaborations since their biggest drop Maddie & Blame back in 2019 but this is no short straw! Peter Pagan, showcases Deema at his weirdest and best, lyrically, only to have the show, equally, stolen by Kish! who unleashes into a frenzy of niche Nintendo Super Smash Bros references expertly disguised as a rap verse.
None of these singles are to be overlooked and are amply set with the intention to lead into the next 3 that will follow, later this year, continuing Deema’s new independent series.
