Douglas Glenn Colvin (September 18, 1951 – June 5, 2002) was a founding member, bassist, occasional lead vocalist, and principal lyricist and composer for the Ramones.
Moving around frequently in the United States and Germany due to his father’s military career, Colvin was often alienated and lonely as a child. At the age of 15, he and his German mother fled his alcoholic father and moved Forest Hills, NY, where he met John Cummings and Thomas Erdelyi, who would later become Johnny and Tommy Ramone.
