Deborah Lynn Thurmond (30 September 1953 -) was born in Memphis, Tennessee and performs with the stage name Deborah Allen. She’s a country music singer-songwriter, author and actress.
Since her first single in 1976, Allen has released over a dozen albums and charted 14 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, most notably the 1983 crossover hit “Baby I Lied” which reached No. 4 on the country charts. Allen’s success as a songwriter is even greater, with over 1,600 songs in here catalog, recorded by artists like Patty Loveless, Brooks and Dunn, LeAnn Rimes and Fleetwood Mac.
Her songs appear in many movie soundtracks as well, including Coyote Ugly, The River Rat, and The Thing Called Love.
