About Debora Iyall

Debora Iyall is a Native American artist and singer, best known for being the lead singer of the new wave band Romeo Void. Her forceful, half-spoken delivery became a staple of the group’s sound, and her songwriting often explored themes such as sexuality and alienation from a female perspective. After Romeo Void’s disbandment, she went on to have a solo career, releasing her debut album Strange Language in 1986.

Outside of music, Iyall is an artist and art instructor, having taught art at the 29 Palms Cultural Center and for the Arts Council for San Bernardino.
