Death Angel is a thrash metal band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1982. They emerged from the same Bay Area thrash metal scene that spawned bands like Metallica (who technically got their start in Los Angeles), Exodus, Testament, Forbidden, Vio-Lence, Lääz Rockit, Possessed, just to name a couple. Death Angel released three well-received albums before breaking up in 1991, following the departure of vocalist Mark Osegueda, and the bus accident that nearly took drummer Andy Galeon’s life. Over the next ten years, the members of Death Angel continued making music together―including releasing two albums with the Death Angel spin-off band The Organization―before eventually reforming the band in 2001. Death Angel has continued to record and perform since then.
