David Young is a trumpeter, composer and music producer. David is active in multiple genres and credited on albums by Jack Harlow, Big Sean, Lauryn Hill, Tory Lanez, D.N.C.E, Nicole Mitchell’s Black Earth Ensemble, The New Black Music Repertory Ensemble, Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Orchestra and many more. David has released two critically acclaimed solo albums; Appassionata (2001) and Silverback (2014). David co-produced Detroit City’s album The Genesis (2019) with Paul “DJ White Shadow” Blair for Quincy Jones' Q&R Music. David Released two singles in the spring of 2022 “The Southside” and “King of Jerusalem” which was accompanied by a music video.
