A key member of Nashville’s folk-music community, David Olney (1948-2020) moved to Tennessee from Providence, R.I. at age 25. His songs were covered by numerous country-music legends. He died of an apparent heart attack during a concert in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., apologizing to the crowd before succumbing in his chair.
