David Michael Draiman Is a heavy metal vocalist from Chicago, Illinois. He is best known as the lead vocalist and songwriter for Disturbed, one of the most popular alternative metal bands of all time, with his signature style of distorted singing being iconic to the band.
As a youth, Draiman suffered abuse for his religion (Jewish), but often fought back with no mercy. Originally he planned to become a rabbi, but later majored in business administration, political science, and philosophy in pursuit of a law degree. However, after responding to an ad in a local newspaper, he became the frontman of the metal band Brawl – later renamed to Disturbed, who would go on to sell over 10 million albums. Draiman has been called one of the best metal vocalists of all time.
Draiman’s side projects include an industrial metal project with Geno Lenardo called Device, and producing the album Vengeance Falls for Florida metal band Trivium.
