David Dixon is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & recording artist. His primary instrument is guitar (he also plays bass, violin, piano & mandolin).
The NC songwriter studied guitar performance & songwriting at Berklee College of Music in Boston. His musical styles consist of pop, rock, blues & soul. Dixon was recently awarded an Artist Support Grant by New Hanover County and he was a finalist for the NC Artist Fellowship Award (NC Arts Council).
Dixon’s most recent release, “Before It Gets Too Cold” is a moody pop song with the accompaniment of a string section (he tracked each part individually).
Dixon’s self-titled album was Mastered by Grammy Award-winner, Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Beck). His 5-song EP, “The Game” was released in August of 2021 and has over 160,000 streams on Spotify.
Dixon performs solo shows while “looping” multiple guitar, bass, percussion & vocal parts. He regularly performs at music festivals, on college campuses, songwriting showcases, house concerts, and more. He had the privilege of opening for Phillip Phillips (American Idol Winner) at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, NC to a sold-out crowd.
Dixon has has toured South Korea twice, performing on US military bases. He has performed in the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, & all over the Southeastern US.
