David Byrne (born May 14, 1952) is the former frontman and founder of the critically-acclaimed new wave band Talking Heads. He has been a frequent collaborator of artists from a variety of eras and backgrounds, such as Brian Eno and St. Vincent.
He is the author of How Music Works, published in September 2012. He also founded the Luaka Bop record label in 1988, which specializes in experimental, electronic, and world music.
