About Darren Criss

Darren Criss is a San Francisco native and singer/songwriter/actor, most well known for his role as Blaine Anderson on the television show Glee.

Criss first gained notoriety as a founding member of Team Starkid, a Chicago-based musical theatre troupe started at the University of Michigan. Criss wrote and starred as Harry Potter in A Very Potter Musical, which quickly amassed an online following.

Criss made his Broadway debut in the revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, succeeding the role of J. Pierrepont Finch by “real-life Harry Potter,” Daniel Radcliffe.
In 2015, Criss also took over the role of Hedwig—succeeding Hedwig co-creator and original Off-Broadway star John Cameron Mitchell—in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

He has maintained his connection with the musical theatre community by creating Elsie Fest, an outdoor music festival “celebrating tunes from the stage and screen” in NYC—Coachella for theatre geeks.

Criss has released a solo album, Human, and his project with brother Chuck Criss, Computer Games, released an EP in 2017. In December of the same year, Criss released a long-awaited solo EP titled Homework.
