Darnik McAlpin, a seasoned figure in the music industry, originally from Augusta, GA, boasts an extensive career in music production and artist development.

Starting his musical journey at the age of 13, Darnik delved into music production with his first keyboard. His passion for music continued to grow during his high school years at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School.

In 1992, at just 16, Darnik began his professional music career, working at Kroger on Washington Rd to save up for studio time. He traveled to Sunrise Recording Studios in Lexington, SC, to record his initial songs, collaborating with artists like Rick Foster (ArkAngel) and his cousin Damien Middleton. The radio debut of “Thug Life,” a song produced by Darnik, marked his first taste of success.

Relocating to Atlanta in 1994 for college at Morehouse College, Darnik continued to make a mark in the music scene. Over the years, he collaborated with various artists and contributed to notable projects, showcasing his versatility in production.

In 1999, while still a senior in college, Darnik released his first album, “Welcome To Tha South.” This was followed by the release of “Georgia Mafia” in 2000, featuring Sha Skillz on “For All Our Niggaz.” Darnik’s influence extended to hits like “Azz Dance” by “The Firemen” in 2001 and “Terror On Tape” by Cino G in 2004.

In 2007, Darnik achieved significant success with the release of Them Concrete Boyz’s albums “Da Mastez” and “Crank That Roadrunner,” collectively selling over 100,000 physical CDs and garnering over 5 million streams.
