Costadinos Contostavlos (born June 11, 1987), better known by his stage name Dappy, is a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor and record producer from Camden, London. He is best known for being the lead singer of N-Dubz, a group formed with cousin Tulisa and close friend Fazer.
2009 saw the arrival of the trio’s platinum-certified sophomore release Against All Odds. The album featured “Number 1”, their chart-topping collaboration with Tinchy Stryder, “I Need You” and the infectious “Playing with Fire” featuring Mr. Hudson.
After the group split in 2011, Contostavlos went solo with his debut single “No Regrets” which peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart. This was taken as the lead single from his debut studio album Bad Intentions released in 2012. Spawning singles such as “Good Intentions”, “Spaceship” with Tinchy Stryder, “Rockstar” featuring Queen guitarist Brian May, Bad Intentions entered the UK Albums Chart at number six.
After multiple run-ins with the law and beef with fellow UK rapper Scorcher, Dappy dropped his EP Eros Apollo in 2015. He exploded back onto the scene with his afroswing track “Oh My” in collaboration with Ay Em.
Since then, Dappy has worked with artists such as Tory Lanez, Kranium, Wiley, Yungen, Deno, Geko, Stefflon Don, Abra Cadabra & Lotto Boyzz.
