Daniel Jones was born on July 22, 1973 in Essex, England, but was raised in Brisbane, Australia. He is best known as half of the late ‘90’s pop duo Savage Garden.
Jones and his brothers were in a cover band called Red Edge that lacked a singer. To fix this, Jones put an ad in a music magazine, calling for a vocalist. A man named Darren Hayes responded to the ad and became Red Edge’s vocalist. Over time, both Hayes and Jones got tired of playing covers, and parted from Red Edge.
Jones and Hayes moved on to create a pop duo, which came to be known as Savage Garden in 1995. The duo would go on to be very successful in the late ‘90’s.
After Savage Garden’s breakup in 2001, Jones went on to produce music for other artists such as Justin Timberlake and Rihanna.
