About Danger Man

Alonso David Blackwood Drakes, better known by his stage name Danger Man a.k.a. “El Rey del Ghetto” (spanish for: King of the Ghetto) was a Panamanian rapper, born in Colón City, Panamá (December 8, 1972). He started gaining notoriety in 1996 after the release of his first record Gangster, which made him quickly become the country’s No. 1 urban artist. Later releases included Bad Boy, Representando el Ghetto, Fenómeno, Veterano de Mil Batallas, First Class, Masacre, Producto del Ghetto and Gangster for Life.

Even though he was raised in a Catholic family, his lyrics commonly dealt with violence and gang related feuds, which made him have rivalries with other rappers.
Also, he was hardly criticized for “biting” others' flows and illegally using music by other artists in his own compositions.

On February 21, 2008, he was shot to death while leaving one of his cousin’s house in Don Bosco, Juan Díaz, Panamá City.
