Daniel James Dailey Jr. (December 14, 1915 – October 16, 1978) was an American dancer and actor, best remembered for his series of popular musicals. He appeared in a minstrel show when he was six and later appeared in vaudeville. In his youth he had to work as a golf caddy and shoe seller. Dailey’s debut on Broadway was Babes in Arms. Since 1940 to 1977 he starred in films, including Mother Wore Tights, When My Baby Smiles at Me and There’s No Business Like Show Business.
