About Damon Dash

Damon “Dame” Dash is a Harlem-born (1971) entrepreneur.

He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records, with JAY-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, in late 1994. The label’s first official release was JAY-Z’s classic debut, Reasonable Doubt, in 1996.

In 1999, Dash co-founded Rocawear with JAY-Z and towards the end of the year, sales generated to more than $110 million.

In October 2002, Dash produced the true-story crime drama, Paid in Full, which chronicled the story of the 1980s Harlem drug syndicate that included Azie Faison, Alpo Martinez and Rich Porter.

He is responsible for his involvement in the success of the careers of Roc-A-Fella team players Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Cam'ron and most significantly Kanye West.
