Daniel “D Smoke” Farris was born on October 17, 1985 in Inglewood, California. Before winning the first season of the Netflix series Rhythm + Flow, he started a songwriting group along with his cousin
Tiffany Gouché called WoodWorks. They would go on to write and produce for the likes of Ginuwine, The Pussycat Dolls, Jaheim and Mary J. Blige to name a few.
He is the brother of TDE artist SiR.
