D. Smith is a producer, songwriter and singer from Brooklyn, NY, based in Atlanta, GA. She started songwriting and producing professionally after being flown to Atlanta by singer Ciara to work on her project Fantasy Ride. At the same time she met producer Polow da Don who later secured her placements with Lloyd, Monica & Keri Hilson.

Her biggest placement was with Lil Wayne on the song she produced, wrote and featured on “Shoot Me Down”. Lil' Wayne not only released the track as a single but also invited Smith to perform it with him on The Jimmy Kimmel Live show. He also described it as one of his favourite songs and the two later won a Grammy for its parent album The Carter III.

Her placements include Ne-Yo, Fantasia, Estelle, Janelle Monaé, Timbaland and Mark Ronson.

Her influences include Michael Jackson, Prince, Tina Turner, Grace Jones, Queen, Madonna, and David Bowie.

In 2015, she released her debut single as an artist “I’m That Bitch”.
