Cynthia Johnson

Cynthia Johnson started her singing career in a band called Flyte Tyme along with producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Though that band would later form the seeds of The Time, Johnson herself went on to join up with disco group Lipps Inc and scored an international smash singing lead on their 1979 hit “Funkytown.”
