CyclonX got their start in music by mashing up songs from the likes of Crush 40, Bentley Jones, amongst other otacore and video game artists. This fascination turned hobby quickly grew into a small YouTube following, where they began to experiment with synths & arrangements.

Their first truly original track WHENEVER. released in 2017— rooted in the experimentation and love of Linkin Park’s more electronic works. Though the single didn’t gain much attention, it made them realize which direction their music should take. Their next original release dropped in October of the following year, titled
DISCOMFORT. The EP was both a huge deviation & comforting next step from their previously seen music. Consisting of incredibly experimental genres, the seemingly directionless EP reflected their unstable life at the time.

After a year in the making, CyclonX would go on to release their first full album LOFIDELITY in September of 2019. The album portrayed a much more consistent sound than most were used to from the artist, consisting of LoFi and chillhop songs. The sound of the album notably stemmed from pitch-shifted urban rap lines, mixing of synths and chopped samples, and use of atmospheric string melodies. LOFIDELITY gained much more attention than their previous works, and would become a precedent for their work to come.
