Crass was an anarchist art collective formed in 1977 in the UK. Known for their incredibly direct, biting commentary on politics and the state of the world, Crass is considered one of the first bands to voice legitimate anarchist views. Due to the stress of a lawsuit stemming from their album Penis Envy, as well as general exhaustion with working together, the band broke up in 1984, releasing their final album, Ten Notes on a Summer’s Day, in 1986.
