CORBYN was born on November 25, 1990 in Daegu, South Korea. He grew up in Portland, Oregon. CORBYN is also known by his Korean name 홍주현(Hong Joo Hyun) and his English name Cory Hong.

CORBYN was a member of the Korean boy group 24K. He was the leader and main vocalist of the group. During his time in 24K he went by the stage name Cory. He produced the mini-album Super Fly for the group. On January 25, 2019 it was announced that Cory left the group. It was later revealed that his contract had ended a while ago, but he had continued to work with 24K.

CORBYN is currently the executive producer of 28 LABORATORY MUSIC, a brand he created with his friend and designer Michael.
