About Cookin’ on 3 Burners

Cookin' on 3 Burners are an Australian funk/soul trio from Melbourne, Australia. Founded in 1997, the band original consisted of organist Jake Mason, drummer Ivan Khatchoyan and guitarist Lance Ferguson. However Ferguson left in 2014 to focus on his other project, local soul outfit The Bamboos, and was replaced by Dan West.

Their feel good 2009 track “This Girl” was “influential in the soul scene” in the UK, hyped by local DJ Miss Goldie. Kungs, aka Valentin Brunel’s, remix of “This Girl” in 2016, meant that the trio and guest vocalist Kylie Auldist landed a No. 1 single in France and hit No. 2 on the German charts.
