Frankie Jahmier Childress (born July 6, 1998), better known by his stage name Comethazine, is a rapper repping East St. Louis.

Comethazine started rapping as a teenager in his basement, which allowed him to quit his job as a mechanic to focus on music full-time. Shortly after, Comethazine released his debut EP, Aloe Vera, on August 19, 2016. After dropping the EP, he gained traction with early hits such as “Run It,” “Hella Choppers," and “Piped Up.”

In early 2018, a feature on SoundCloud that allows their original sound file to be switched was abused for an unofficial upload of rapper YBN Nahmir’s song “Bounce Out With That,” that was replaced with his hit single, “Bands,” causing it to acquire the chart data of “Bounce Out With That.” Due to this incident, the song gained massive popularity on the platform. That same year, Comethazine released his debut long-awaited mixtape, Bawskee, to which it spawned hit singles such as “Let it Eat” featuring Ugly God and his most popular song to date, “Walk,” which received a remix with A$AP Rocky a year later.

In 2019, Comethazine’s career would spike up furthermore, as he was selected to be a part of the 2019 XXL Freshmen Class. That same year, he released two mixtapes: Bawskee 2 and BAWSKEE 3.5. Those mixtapes would spawn more hits from Comethazine’s discography, such as “DEMAR DEROZAN,” “NONSENSE,” “FIND HIM,” and “SOLVED THE PROBLEM.” In June 2019, Comethazine would launch his own record label, Hench Mafia Records.

After continuing to gain traction from the media thanks to his infamous snippets (to which some were released years after), on March 27, 2020, Comethazine released his long-awaited debut studio album, Pandemic, which was named after the COVID-19 pandemic. He quickly followed up Pandemic with his fourth mixtape Bawskee 4, released on October 23, 2020.

2021 would be a quiet year for Comethazine, as before the release of his second studio album, Comethazine The Album, he released “Malcolm in the Middle,” which was his only release of the year at the time. On October 22, 2021, after months of silence, Comethazine The Album was released. The following year, Comethazine’s fifth mixtape, Bawskee 5, was released.
