International singer/songwriter, clide achieved widespread acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic after releasing his debut EP ‘in my mind’ in 2020, racking up over 20m streams across DSPs in the process. Focus track ‘broken parts’ was well received by music blogs including ‘Before The Data’ (formerly ‘HillyDilly’) and ‘Kings of A&R’, establishing him as one of the hottest ‘artists-to-watch’ in pop.

With a polished indie/chill pop sound and raw, relatable lyrics, clide often draws comparisons to artists like LAUV, Sam Smith and Charlie Puth. clide’s upcoming EP, ‘feelings’, takes a deeper, even more intimate dive into clide’s own heartbreak and feelings of uncertainty; examining the emotional rollercoaster of love in the digital age.

Humble beginnings
clide’s interest in music started at an early age. His mother and father were both professional classical musicians, so it was only a matter of time before he started experimenting with music himself. clide’s fascination with creating and performing music only grew when he frequently began attending music festivals. clide was drawn to the energy and showmanship of the DJs that would perform, it was then he realized that he wanted to create music himself that could have a positive and long-lasting impact on its listeners. At the age of 15, clide began teaching himself music production and songwriting writing hundreds of songs in his bedroom with an old microphone and a MIDI piano. He experimented with many different genres of music before creating his own sound and sonic identity. In 2017 clide began attending Bimm-Berlin School of Music where he studied songwriting.

Behind the music
clide’s motivation to create meaningful music comes from his deep-rooted desire to help people by creating relatable, honest and authentic music – his overall credo. The six songs that make up ‘feelings’ each represent a different emotional state and situation that clide has been through or wrestled with. The EP’s final track, ‘feelings’, is a culmination of the project and all of the different sentiments from the previous songs. In it, clide talks about the highs and lows of life before making the point that feelings, good or bad, are all part of life: The highs will not feel as high without the lows. Both the song ‘feelings’ and the EP itself takes the listener on an emotional rollercoaster, outlining both the good and bad emotional states without any sugar coating. clide’s emotional bravery transcends any misconceptions about the picture of a ‘young strong’ man who doesn’t talk about his feelings. By doing exactly the opposite, clide only demonstrates that there’s strength in vulnerability.

Next single
‘can’t give back your love’ – coming May 14th 2021 – is the first single from his new ‘feelings’ EP. The beautifully written and intimately performed song tells the story of the pain one feels after breaking someone’s heart. It captures a moment of time in which one had to make a tough decision and is now faced with the emotional aftermath of the situation:

‘I got inspired to write it, because I wanted to give a different perspective on a heartbreak that isn’t talked about as much as the other way around. It is about the pain that comes with breaking someone’s heart and knowing the pain you’re causing the other person to feel. Even though being the one that usually gets blamed, it still hurts and might not be easy at all, never having had the intention or wanting to leave them hurt like that but having to do what you know is best for you and the other person.’

In an age of digital love, uncertainty and overwhelming opportunities, clide’s music gives shelter to a young generation by approaching topics such as one’s own identity or the loss of the one first love. clide does so by opening up about his own struggles while recognizing that shadow is as much part of life as light is: ‘The track ‘can’t give back your love’ marks the starting point of the whole narrative, pushing feelings away and thus being the first song of the overall project.’ - ‘feelings’ EP is set to be released in late summer 2021.
