Clark Beckham (born May 15, 1992) is an American singer-songwriter. He was born and raised in Tennessee, and became interested in music from attending church. He started off as a street performer in Tennessee, before making the move to Hollywood. There he auditioned for the fourteenth season of singing-competition series American Idol, placing second overall.
Even though he is most known for American Idol, Beckham started making music before his run on the show with his first EP Clark Beckham releasing in 2013. This EP builds the foundation of his music’s emotional flavor that has continued on over the years through 2014 EP Songs About Her and singles “Run Away” and “Luckiest Man” from 2020.
Beckham’s sound is explained partly by his inspirations, who are big figures in the R&B/Soul scene, such as Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.
