Amin Mohamed (born February 21, 1996), also known by his stage name Chunkz, is an British-Somali comedian, presenter, YouTube personality and former-musician from North West London. Chunkz started his YouTube channel on July 23, 2015 uploading various pranks, challenges, reaction, comedy videos and vlogs, and has since amassed over 1.7 million subscribers. He is also a part of the YouTube collective Beta Squad which has over 1.5 million subscribers.

Chunkz gained wide notoriety through his cameo in Big Shaq’s (Michael Dapaah) novelty song “Man’s Not Hot” in 2017 where he played the role of Asznee.

His debut song “Vibranium” with Neji was released in August 2018 to high acclaim. Since then, he has been a frequent duo with close YouTube personality, presenter and best-friend Yung Filly. They released “Clean Up” in March 2020, following up with “Hold” in October 2020. Both tracks were critical successes, amassing 8 million views on YouTube.

In September 2020, Chunkz made headlines after participating in Soccer Aid 2020 and infamously missing a game-winning penalty, which turned him into a meme. December 2020, Chunkz won the award for Best Media Personality at the 2020 MOBO Awards.

On the 7th of May 2021, Chunkz announced that he would be officially quitting music through a video on his YouTube channel. The reasoning came as Chunkz felt strongly about his Muslim faith and wanted to abide by the Islamic guidelines.

He explained:

Deen over dunya. I feel like, I just randomly had an epiphany about 3 months ago. Obviously, we’re Muslim, bro, and music’s haram. I just don’t feel right about doing this. Getting closer to the religion, praying. I feel bad every time I associate with music and releasing it, and stuff. So I feel that it’s just that time. Music decreases your إِيمَان Iman (faith), I don’t think they can go hand-in-hand, and I kind of lost sight of the vision (…) I’m more grateful and more thankful for what I am achieving, Alhamdulillah, and I can see that I’m going into a bad little path.
