The German-Austrian actor, best known for his work with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino in such films as “Inglorious Basterds” and “Django Unchained”, Christoph Waltz has been hailed as one of the finest foreign actors, with accolades including 2 Academy Awards, 3 Golden Globes, and numerous other awards internationally.

Christoph Waltz was born on 4 October, 1958 in Vienna, Austria to set and costume designers, setting his path already to become a film sensation. Waltz began to study acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar during his formative years, and in the 70s he moved to New York where he studied method acting, before moving into theater and performing live. In 1977, Waltz made his television debut in the TV movie “Der Einstand”, translating to “The Purchase”, before landing a major role in 1979’s “Parole Chicago”, a German program. Soon after, Waltz began to star in many TV movies and television shows, becoming a prolific actor.

In 2009, Waltz played Hans Landa, the Jew Hunter, in Quentin Tarantino’s Holocaust film, “Inglorious Basterds”, taking the role instead of the first option, Leonardo DiCaprio, would star in Tarantino’s next film, alongside Waltz, “Django Unchained”.
