Christine Lavin (b. 1952) is a singer-songwriter who has been active since the release of Future Fossils in 1984. Her subject matter often concerns the everyday experience of romance inflected with humor. She has released over seventeen solo albums on several labels, including her own. In 2016, a year rife with American gun violence, she released a single, “Don’t Take Anyone (Please Put Down the Gun).” She is based in New York City.
