Born in 1961, Chris Mars is best known as the founding drummer for The Replacements. He left the group in 1990 after their final album, All Shook Down over disagreements with lead singer/guitarist Paul Westerberg. He released two solo albums in the 1990s before retiring from music to focus on art.
