Despite the name, the Chicago Gangsters were orginally from Ohio, consisting of four brothers James, Sam, Chris, and Leroy McCants. Their funk sound ranged from deep funk and sweet smooth disco balladry. They adopted the name to Chicago Gangsters when being signed to Gold Plate Records.
