CHEEN, also known as Cherine Amr, is an Egyptian musician who was born in Alexandria and began her singing career at the age of 6. As an 18-year-old, she discovered her passion for rock and metal music, and subsequently taught herself to play the guitar. In 2005, she founded the first all-female metal band in Egypt, MASCARA, and started writing her own songs. Her solo pop-rock song “Ab3ad Makan” caught the attention of Egyptian director Ahmad Abdallah, who featured it in his film Microphone. Following the success of this song, CHEEN formed her own solo band and released an album called “3ALAM TANY” to great acclaim.
