Charles ‘Chuck’ Bobuck started life as a character within The Residents' 2010 Talking Light show, portrayed by Hardy Fox.
Whilst the show was still touring, Fox began to write and record mostly ambient music, separate from The Residents. Fox released this music under the name Charles Bobuck.

Throughout the next seven years, Bobuck would release album after album before revealing his true identity and opting to use his birth name from that point onward.

Hardy Fox died on October 30th, 2018.
