About CHARGER (USA)

Charger is a hardcore punk band from Oakland, California. It was started by the ska punk band Rancid’s lead bassist, Matt Freeman, and his longtime friend, bassist, Andrew McGee, and drummer, Jason Willer. In April, 2019, Freeman released their first song under Charger: Victim. Unlike Freeman’s other projects, he got Pirate Press to produce it, instead of his producer from Devil’s Brigade, Tim Armstrong.

This project was formed in memory of the metal band, Motörhead’s late singer, Lemmy Kilmister. Kilmister had died of a heart faliure after battling with prostate cancer for many years.
