Chandler Matkins, known mononymously as Chandler, is a musician, actor, and producer based out of Richmond, Virginia. As a rapper, they are most known for their song “Hot Pocket”, which went viral on TikTok in October 2021.

Chandler was born in Newport News, Virginia, and was raised in the surrounding area. They spent most of their time focused on theater, but starting rapping in the 8th grade and was part of a high school rap group called Distorted Afterstory. After high school, Chandler was the longtime drummer of a Southern-Americana rock band called Big Mama Shakes before departing from the band to finish their studies. They eventually earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in theatre performance from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, and continues to be involved in the thespian scene as well as being a hip hop artist.
