Alex Cates better known as Cates (born March 2, 2002) is an Artist/Producer from Atlanta, Georgia

Known for his songs Sunset. and You., Cates has been making music since the age of 11. He first got into making music when his parents bought him an acoustic guitar and lessons. By the age of 14 Cates would learn how to play piano and start to make beats. Cates would start to sell his beats on BeatStars.com at the age of 16. Eventually Cates would meet Nate Haydel and they would collaborate together on the song Sunset.

Soon after the release of Sunset. Cates would start to release electronic remixes of popular songs like Sugar by Brockhampton and Phone Numbers by Dominic Fike on SoundCloud . The success of these electronic remixes would cause Cates to release his first song You. On all platforms.
