Calvin Johnson (b. November 1, 1962) is an American guitarist, singer-songwriter, music producer, and DJ known for his deep, droning voice. He is a founder of the bands Cool Rays, Beat Happening, The Go Team, and The Halo Benders, as well as a member of many others. Johnson is the founder and current owner of K Records, an influential indie label cited as a major player in the rise of modern independent music.
