C.O.D. (South Park Coalition)

About C.O.D. (South Park Coalition)

Three years before K-Rino’s solo career took off, he and Dope E teamed up in 1990 to release a 5-track EP under the group name C.O.D. It displays the high energies of two emerging young talents eager to prove themselves, played over invigorating samples of late-70s funk. It’s not as evolved or polished as the work these two would create later in their decades-long (and still ongoing) careers, but it remains an enjoyable listen.

For twenty one years, this remained the only C.O.D. release. K became his own frontman, while E focused more on producing and guest vocals. But, surprising everyone, the two teamed up in 2011 to release a second C.O.D. album! It has a markedly different style from the first, reflecting not only decades of an evolving genre, but also changes in the two artists' lyrical techniques, delivery style, and personal values.
