About Buzzcocks

After The Ramones, no band was more instrumental in the creation of pop-punk than Buzzcocks. Formed in Manchester, England, in 1976, the quartet made its name with irreverent, hyper-catchy singles like “Orgasm Addict,” “What Do I Get?” and “Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve).” Many of the group’s finest tunes are collected on 1979’s Singles Going Steady—arguably the best best-of in punk history.

In its original incarnation, the band released three studio albums. After splitting up in 1983, frontman Pete Shelley and guitarist Steve Diggle reunited in 1989, and they’ve since released six well received latter-day LPs. The most recent, The Way, dropped in 2014 after a successful PledgeMusic campaign.
