About Burton C. Bell

Burton Christopher Bell is a vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist best known for his work with industrial metal band Fear Factory, which he parted ways with in 2020 following many legal disputes and disagreements with former bandmates Dino Cazares, Christian Olde Wolbers and Raymond Herrera.
He also formed a project of his own, Ascension of the Watchers, which aims at a more personal take on music and artistic expression ; whereas Fear Factory’s themes involved the “Man vs. Machine” struggle inspired by sci-fi works as well as aggressive, radicalized political statements.

Bell was born February 19, 1969 in Houston, TX ; and grew up with his twin brother and parents.
His mother being a violinist in her lifetime, he was introduced to arts and more specifically music very early, and attended the Corcoran School of Art, from which he eventually dropped out from.

1989 was the year when he moved in Los Angeles, CA, at the age of 20. Soon after, he’d land a job at the Dayle Gloria’s Club With No Name which he helped build, and was introduced to many bands and musicians which eventually pushed him to try to become one of them.

He joined his first band, Hateface, in 1990, and played a few shows until the band eventually disbanded. This is where he met Dino Cazares, who said to have liked his vocals, and offered him to join Fear Factory along with Raymond Herrera.
