Niccolo Terre, better known by his stage name, bunii, is an indie-rock-pop writer, singer, and producer. With his 2024 rise to stardom, bunii became known for his innovative production and unique songwriting featured across his discography. Working with artists such as crayon and Kid Moon, bunii’s benefited heavily from his frequent appearances on rapids—an underground spotlight that would further his reach.

bunii started releasing music in late 2022, but it wasn’t until 2024 that he’d start to build a community around his music. His first project since beginning to grow, opo, released on August 3, 2024, and was followed two months later by SIX. Through his consistent release schedule and handful of throwaways appearing on rapids, bunii built a strong community that would begin to hype up his next project.

Leading into 2025, bunii’s name became more familiar in the SoundCloud-underground scene, and he started the year off strong with January’s 8:30 is too early—another self-produced project showcasing his unique blend of genres. The EP helped pushed bunii’s name, leading towards barberry lane, a double-single release that set a strong precedent for his debut album, bastard.

But bunii’s rapid growth in 2025 wasn’t just a mass influx of Spotify listeners, he was turning into the next underground star. From appearing in tier lists and commentary videos, to earning himself a Pitchfork article alongside ayowitty, he was an artist to keep an eye on, and bastard only pushed him out further.

The long-awaited album released on July 25, 2025, and immediately pushed boundaries for the Los Angeles star. The album was quick to receive positive attention, and he’d see growth like never before, going from billboards to the face of SoundCloud within months.
