Buck Ormsby was the bass player for the Tacoma band, the Fabulous Wailers. When the Wailers got into a major dispute with their East Coast record label, Ormsby eventually founded Etiquette Records, a fixture of the “Northwest sound” of garage rock records. Ormsby’s greatest legacy remains his production of the Sonics' two landmark 1960s proto-punk recordings, Here Come the Sonics and Boom. These no-holds barred recordings would become central documents in the formation of punk rock.
